Doesn't he look like a cool dad? So here he is, in his Converse low-tops. And below you will see the whole family in all their glory. I can't express how much I wish I knew how to do techy things like stop-motion animation. It would have been so great to make a little video with them---this picture reminds me of a publicity shot of a sitcom or something.
So, tonight Joseph and I are heading out to see his family for the weekend. Then, on Monday I start my first week of training, which is full-time, so I may have to take a week of of Softie construction. Really, I am glad to have to force myself to stop for awhile because my arms have been bothering me again, so this will be a great way to recuperate without the temptation of being alone in a house with a sewing machine. Have a great weekend!

Have a wonderful weekend and good luck with training.

Love all these guys. Love the little converse shoes. You have outdone yourself. No wonder your arm hurts. Take care and take it easy. Hugs.
Awww they are so cute, he may well be my favourite. I created my own pillow monster today, inspired by your lovely self. Thought you may want to check it out:

Keep up the fab work, they so need to be in a sitcom! Shame you can't do something like the Potter Puppet pals. Or if you've seen the second series of Black Books they have dolls that do a scene in there.
Excuse my late night ramblings, away I go! Keep up the fab work pillow monster lady!

What a wonderful family! I love Doug's specs.
Hi, this is Doug....Yes, the Converse shoes, black glasses wearing, large head, orange loving Doug. I can honestly say that I never thought in a million years I would have a Pillow Monster in my likeness. When my wife told me she was having something custom made from a blog pal, I thought, "Oh great, jewelry." She took me to your site and showed me two of my three kids as Pillow Monsters. What an amazing talent you have and I can only say that I cannot wait to have the whole family on display at our home.
Doug
p.s. Thank you for not making my head too big.
Nichol,
I love the way the whole family turned out, but I especially love the fabric choice for Doug's shirt! It works so well with everything else, and really makes the whole design sing. Rest those arms! I wouldn't know what to do if I couldn't get my fix of pillow Monsters. :)
They are so awesome! Once I get some money Ill have to get you to make one for me (although we don't have kids - just puppies).
Doug's converse shoes rule =) I can'y help but wonder what fantastic thing you create next.
What a beautiful family you've created! They will be delighted when they receive them! Congrats on making so much beauty! :)
How terrific to hear the "real Doug" comment on your creations.
He was very funny.
When my husband sees me on "Etsy" he gets nervous and says "I don't think we need any more pillow monsters at the moment!"
hey nichol- how did you get those sweet update things on everyone's blogs? i have so many links and i can't keep up with them all, but i love all my links but rarely check the ones that aren't under my daily category- that function would be a time saver!!!
What a cool family! They turned out great. Very distinct personalities. I'm sure they will be quite loved!
Getting caught up on my reading and will have to check out Craft Inc.
Enjoy your break!
