My Non-Pillow Monster Weekend

On my weekend off....  I did a ton of walking, but most of my time was spent neck, back, arm icing and heating.  While doing the cold/hot thing on my aches and pains, I watched nearly all of season 1 of Project Runway (I can't believe that mom!  Ruthless!), season 1 and 2 of Weeds and I run the risk of sounding prudish when I let you know what I think of it, but there is almost too much cussing.  It's not that I mind cussing.  S#$%$*@!  It's just that some shows seem to throw it in there just because they can and they think perhaps it ups the cool factor of their show, but it just makes the dialogue seem a little unbelievable and lazy.  Does anyone else feel like this or am I a square?

I also found this (see above) growing out of a tree on one of my walks.  It is a poorly lit picture, but can you believe the color?  Hot pink!  I thought hot pink was an invention of the eighties, but no, it's a natural color and it grows out of trees.  I need to pay more attention!  What other natural fluorescents have I been missing out on?!

Also, Joseph and I had a bit of a board game marathon.  We initially bought the Ticket to Ride Game, but when Darby (of the Crafty Red Fox) left a comment about Carcassonne, we decided to get it too (we have to do our part to stimulate the economy, right?).   They are both really fun---it is a good way to pass the time.

I especially like Ticket to Ride because, as I previously mentioned, trains are the best, AND because I really wooped Joseph bad.  On this particular game, I scored a 75 which is almost double his score as you can see from the picture below.  Or as they say in Weeds, " I &*%$&^ kicked his (&^*%*^% &*%^(@#@$ *&^&^!".

That is a Mimosa flower- we have a tree in our back yard. So pretty and so tropical and unexpected for Boston!

Nichol, I agree about swearing (cussing)on shows. Very unimaginative. Our family prefer the author Lauren Child's expressions "scissor-snipper" and "weasley little rodent".

yeah Weeds has a @#$^$#%$@! lot of bad bad words. But I like it anyway! Young grasshopper, heed these words...The Secret Of #$$ Kicking In Carcassonne is in The Meadows! If you get a ^%$^%$ meadow you can blow your opponent out of the %#$^%*&^%! water.
Good Luck!

I wish Kimmie would dance outside of my windows at night...

Love the flower - so pretty!

Oh, and I'm a real addict concerning board games! Love 'ticket to ride' but 'Carcassonne' has filled up many many evenings at our home! Like crafty red fox says: the meadows can serve you really well in the end!
Another game we're addicted too is 'settlers of catan' - seriously addictive though! :)
